Ohio's Fine Dining

On our way out of Petersburg, KY, we had to go back through Ohio to get to Indiana. Nothing exciting. except our very first time eating at...

After watching Harold and Kumar labor for White Castle, we figured this must taste awesome. So we ordered #1 combos, involving four sliders each:

This creepy guy served us:

And we were starved after so much learning at the Creation Museum! Yum yum, White Castle:

On second thought, whatever those were they looked really gross... but we are still alive:

Ohio, Part II

Soon after Pickerington, we drove through Ohio's capital, Columbus. It was rather small looking and didn't cure our boredomitis.

But the grass is greener on the other side of Columbus and we arrived in Vandalia, OH, just north of Dayton. This is where we met Web's aunts, uncles, and his Grandma. (And like dum-dums, we forgot to take pictures. D'oh!)

Like all the other Ohioans I have met, Web's extended family was very friendly & hospitable. It was clear during our family dinner at Ruby Tuesday's though, who runs the house in Vandalia: the women. It was also clear that Web is far behind his cousins in producing grandchildren so I think I was eyeballed by his family as they considered my child-bearing potential.

I'd also note Ohio may contain the fountain of youth, as Web's grandmother, bless her heart, is nearly a century old, just turning 96 this May and doesn't even look 80! Wow!

Ohio, Part I

Before Web and I could fully digest West Virginia, we were served a hot plate of Ohio.

We spent much more time in Ohio, and a goodly amount of it with Ohioans themselves. But first, a stop at a Pickeringtown Wal-Mart Supercenter for restrooms and something to drink. This is where I met Rolly the Pretzel. We were rollin'.

Web and I also caught the disease called "Boredomitis" which is spread through interstate driving in the Midwest. The first symptom we had caught this terrible ailment was heavying rocking out:

Ohio Detour?

So my friend Nicole from MaryPIRG originates from Cincinnati, OH. She lives near the Creation Museum. I am thinking it may be worth it to get up earlier to get to Chicago to go to the Creation Museum for $22 and sleep in a house instead of paying $20 camping. Eh?
